I Did Not Plan to Mop the Floor Last Night

but since an inch of water was already bathing my bathroom floor, I figured it must be done. Hey, at least it was bath water and not toilet water!

Yep, my two boys were busy playing in the tub. As we can hear and glance into our bathroom from our kitchen, we don't always stay in there and stare at them while they bathe. So I kept hearing this pouring sound. Hmm, that's funny, what could they be pouring with? Oh I guess I left the hair washing cup in there. We usually remove it from the tub so that Fuzzy Wuzzy doesn't pour water out of the tub. But if he were doing that, Squiggly Wiggly would have tattled immediately.

So I didn't rush in right away. I could hear both boys voices clearly, which means that no one was drowning. Then I hear Fuzzy Wuzzy laughing and saying, "It's raining!" as I heard more water. "Oh, no" I thought. The sound easily could have been the water turning on and off. I stepped in ready to lecture Squiggly Wiggly on not touching the faucet.

Right before the words came out of my mouth, I saw that Fuzzy Wuzzy was simply lifting up our toy basket and watching the water spout out of the holes. He was having so much fun, and he had no idea that he was making such a mess!

Our toy basket is just a little crate from the dollar store. The only holes in the bottom are tiny ones in the corners, so all the water was spewing out the side holes (which are cute little fish and star shapes). So even though Fuzzy Wuzzy was not dumping out of the tub, he was close enough to the edge that all the water facing that direction went straight onto the floor. The tub's water level was at least 2-3 inches lower than when I filled it!

Fortunately, I had a whole load of bath towels waiting to be washed, and my laundry room is also right by the bathroom. So I mopped the floor with bath towels. It took the whole load of towels to get the floor clean and dry! I've cleaned up much worse, haven't you?

Glad to see that bath time at your house is much like it is at mine.
