"People need dramatic examples to shake them out of apathy..." ~Bruce Wayne
I've known all week what I've wanted to say on this... in brief. But I've not had the chance to write until now, and frankly, this will be short and hopefully to the point. Just don't have much time to elaborate.
I don't exactly agree with this statement. I think if someone is truly apathetic, no example is going to shake them out of it. Dramatic examples may prevent people from completely succumbing to apathy. Someone who is truly apathetic needs dramatic experiences to shake them out of it. Mere example is not enough. The person must personally experience something dramatic.
That's all. I did say it would be short.

I like this!
Didn't think about it in this way - thanks for participating. I was ready to add another day...
When I think about this angle it even applies to what I was writing about as well.
I agree with you. If things shake around someone who is apathetic then it has no meaning to them but if they themselves are shaken then hopefully they get the point. GOOD STUFF!!!!
I just was checking on you. How are you?
I'm Plain and Simple's Sister-in-law. Nice to meet you!!!
Happy Birthday!
Hi, I was trying to figure out who you were. I didn't have a clue!! Nice to talk with you again!!!
I'm actually still teaching...biology and general science at New Creation Co-op in Dillsburg. Although, if you've been reading my blog, you already know that. :) Have a super fantastic God-day!!!
I can only speak from my own experience: when I am apathetic in an area of my life, dramatic examples only inspire me. Dramatic experiences (mine or shared with others) are what move me to action. I find that truth about myself mildly distressing, but am also real enough to know that it's not always a bad thing. For example, once I've "gotten it," I don't see that I repeat it terribly often when it's been thru experience.
One of these Mondays, I am actually going to get on the ball and link up myself. Mondays are sooo hard here to be on the computer at all . . .
